Feeding Therapy
Feeding therapy can focus on a variety of different areas that impact a child’s ability to successfully engage in mealtime. After a thorough feeding evaluation, a therapist will create a comprehensive plan which may include goals targeted toward sensory processing/regulation, oral motor skills, safe swallowing, mealtime pace, g-tube weening, chewing, drinking, selffeeding skills, and/or expansion of a child’s food repertoire.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy at Feeding Friends specialize in assessing and treating a wide range of speech and language disorders in children, helping them overcome challenges related to articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, stuttering, and social communication. Our speech therapy services aim to empower each child to express themselves confidently and fluently, ensuring they can thrive in various aspects of their lives.
Occupational Therapy
At Feeding Friends, our occupational therapy services are dedicated to maximizing a child’s independence in all areas of their daily living. Our occupational therapists work with children to develop age-appropriate fine motor skills, visual perceptual and visual motor skills, as well as sensory processing and sensory-motor integration needed for successful participation at both home and school.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy at Feeding Friends provides treatment plans for children, addressing a range of motor challenges and physical disabilities which includes positioning during feeding, mobility, strength, balance, and coordination. Our physical therapist promote physical function and independence in the children they work with.
Developmental Therapy
Developmental therapists at Feeding Friends aim to optimize children’s success across various developmental domains. Collaborating closely with families, developmental therapists tailor individualized programs that cater to each child’s specific needs, drawing on their strengths to address areas of challenge. With expertise in cognitive development, they guide families in using play and daily routines as tools for learning and managing behavior challenges.
First Steps Early Intervention Therapy
Feeding Friends is also an approved provider of services through the State of Indiana First Steps early intervention program. Our therapists enrolled in First Steps provide services to families with children, birth through three years of age, who have developmental delays or disabilities. The program emphasizes family-centered care, recognizing the crucial role parents and caregivers play in a child’s development. Indiana First Steps empowers children to reach their full potential, fostering a strong foundation for future learning and success.
Lactation Consulting
At Feeding Friends we provide expert lactation consultant services to support both mothers and babies. Our dedicated team ensures a nurturing environment for breastfeeding success, offering personalized guidance and care every step of the way.
Augmentative Communication Evaluations
Feeding Friends offers evaluations and ongoing treatment utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). During the evaluation process we will work with your family to help determine the best fit for communication across environments. Feeding Friends additionally completes the paperwork and funding packets necessary to have the systems funded by insurance.
